Contra Costa County In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority Advisory Committee is recruiting for seven positions.
Current vacancies:
District-appointed individuals who 1) reside or work in the district for which there is a vacant seat, and 2) have professional experience in the health and human services fields. Two open positions:
District I
District IV
Consumer seats for current or former IHSS recipients. Five open positions:
Consumer Seat 2 – Under 60 years of age
Consumer Seats 1 & 2 – Over 60
Consumer Seats 1 & 2 – Any age
Individuals with professional experience in these categories are preferred:
- Senior advocate
- Advocate for younger persons with disabilities
- Representative from the developmental disability community
- Social Worker
- Nurse
- Representative from a community-based organization
- Representative from a home health agency
- Current or previous IHSS Provider
About IHSS Public Authority Advisory Committee
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors created the IHSS Public Authority to give advice and assistance to the Board of Supervisors, the IHSS Program, and Public Authority staff. The IHSS PA Advisory Committee is comprised of 11 total seats. Five are district-appointed and six are consumer seats (two under 60; two over 60; and two of any age).
The Advisory Committee meets once a month in Pleasant Hill on the third Tuesday. Advisory Committee members are reimbursed for the cost of their public transportation or mileage.
