Our Head Start Policy Council works in partnership with the County Board of Supervisors and other key management staff to develop, review and approve planning functions, general procedures, and human resources related issues. The Policy Council serves as a link to Head Start Parent Committees in communicating with parents to ensure that they understand their rights and opportunities in our programs, and to encourage their participation.
The Policy Council is comprised of elected parent representatives of current and past children and local community representatives. At least 51 percent of the members must be the parents or guardians of currently enrolled children. All members stand for reelection annually.
Policy Council meetings are held every third Wednesday of the month from 6-8PM at 500 Ellinwood Way, Pleasant Hill, CA.
