Former Foster Youth: If you are a college student at a four-year university, or in a Career and Technical Education Program at a community college, you are eligible to apply for VESTIA’s Need to $ucceed Scholarship. Receive extra funds to cover basic needs, the cost of tuition, books and more! While award recipients have already been selected for fall, there is still time to apply for the spring semester. The deadline to apply is December 15.

Application Criteria
1. Applicant must be a former foster youth or non-minor dependent of the court of Contra Costa County.
2. Applicant must be 21 years or older.
3. Applicant must provide proof of enrollment in an accredited four-year college, or Career and Technical Education Program through a community college.
4. A re-entry student who has significantly delayed enrollment in an academic institution or has significant gaps in their educational path may also apply.
5. Scholarships are provided in two grants; $1,500.00 for each installment.
6. Applicant must submit a copy of their transcript with application and with progress report.
7. Applications will be reviewed two times per year.
8. Applicants may only apply once during the year; annual scholarships may not be provided.
