What is an EASTBAYWorks One-Stop Center?

The EASTBAYWorks One-Stops provide assistance with employment and vocational training to job seekers. They are part of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) client services. The concept is to integrate the numerous employment and training programs into a single, customer-friendly set of services.

A consortium of nine community partners operates the One-Stop centers. The partners include:

Community College Districts
Adult Schools
State Employment Development Department (EDD)
State Department of Rehabilitation
Contra Costa County Community Services Department
Contra Costa County Community Development Department (Redevelopment)
California Human Development Corporation (CHDC)
Job Corps
Contra Costa County Employment & Human Services Department (EHSD)

Job seekers have access to a full range of services to help you find a job. Services include:
Job listings
Job search information
Resume writing soft-ware
Posting your resume and other job search assistance tools
Access to computers, printers, faxes and phones
Videos and books on topics such as job seeking and interviews
Job opportunities for special groups such as youth, older workers, dislocated workers, women, veterans/military personnel, and people with disabilities
Employment preparation workshops
Career exploration and Labor Market Information
Resume writing, interview workshops, typing certificates


Do I have to be eligible for CalWORKs in order to receive services at the One-Stop?

EASTBAYWorks One-Stop Centers are open to everyone. There is no eligibility determination. If you are unemployed and looking for a job, or if you are currently employed and you are looking for a better job, the One-Stop is here to serve you.

Do I have to pay for services at the EASTBAYWorks One-Stop Center?

Services are free to everyone.
