Finding Your Way Around: Our site is made up of 5 distinct sections each with their own unique set of choices. Each section corresponds to our department bureaus. On all of our pages you will see these 5 sections across the top of the page: “Employment & Human Services”, “Workforce Services”, “Children & Family”, “Aging and Adult”, and “Community Services”. Simply point your arrow at one of these menu headings to see your choices (no click needed). Move your mouse over your choice within that menu and CLICK once. In a few moments the information you requested will appear. Each section or bureau is color coded as a frame of reference.

Many pages will have additional “links”. These will be underlined and colored text (normally in blue). Just click on any link you wish to find further information.

There are some links that will take you to different web sites. Please come back! When a link sends you to a different site, a new window will be opened. To return to our site, simply close the new window containing the other web site.

At the bottom of every screen, if you scroll down you will find the choices: “Instructions”, “Site Map”, “Contact Us”, “Home” and “Search”.

These instructions are available from every page in the same manner as you arrived here. A click on “Site Map” will take you to a simple outline of the site that can be used in lieu of the menus if needed or preferred. As mentioned before, “Contact Us” will take you to a list of resources with phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses where appropriate.

Searching for specific information: To implement a search within our site, at the bottom of any page, just type the text you are looking for in the white box just after the word “Search” and then click GO. Using general terms should be effective. The search will bring up a list of locations in our site that use the word(s) you requested with the context surrounding that word. You can click on any appropriate link from that list to take you to that location. To return to the Search list, use your BACK button in your browser software or implement a new Search by typing something new in the box and clicking “GO” again.

To implement a search for information NOT found on our site, we recommend using one of the major search engines found on the Internet such as, http://www.yahoo.com, http://www.excite.com, http://www.askjeeves.com, http://www.hotbot.com, or http://www.northernlight.com. We don’t recommend any one over the other. Try them and others to find your favorite.
